DUbrovnik - the (over)touristic

Dubrovnik was one of my destination in 2019 for a long weekend with my partner. The city architecture is unique with the old city and its citadel. With my digital and analog camera I was quite positive getting some nice shots during the trip. However, after 2 days nothing … Absolutely no inspiration and not one single good picture to bring back home.

After having some thoughts on the issue, I realised that the city was lacking the life of its habitants due to overtourism. This success had for consequence to push locals out of the city and replace it by shops and restaurants specifically targeting tourists. You have therefore a strange feeling that you are in the city designed for tourists, like Vegas and with limited city life or historical elements.

What was source of distraction became my inspiration and I switched my focus to photograph Dubrovnik in showing the beauty of this city with the tourism layer.

Below you will find a selection of the pictures and the link to buy the book.
